The Burnished-masked, Tangara nigrocincta, is a neotropical bird found in northwestern South America, where usually forages in the Amazon rainforest canopy (Isler and Isler 1999).

The colors of this bird include black and green and blue tones, with a "mask" black feature giving this bird its descriptive name.
The appearance of Burnished-masked and behavior are similar to the Tangara larvata and the Tangara cyanicollis actually was formerly classified as conspecific doTangara larvata (Hilty and Brown 1986 Isler and Isler 1999).
POWER
They feed on fruit, nectar and insects also.
HABITS
Terra firme forest, meadow, border secondary forests and plantations. Also lives in lowland areas and mountains, on the slopes (border with Venezuela).
