The Tanager of-meeting-yellow is a passerine bird in the tanager family. Also known as tanager-of-saw, tanager-of-date and tanager-king.
features
Species easily identifiable by blue-grayish dark and upper coverts of yellow wings, differing and other species of tanagers. In some individuals, regardless of gender and geographical distribution, the yellow primary spans all pinions, reaching uropiginal region.
food
Small fruits and generally hard to trees, shrubs and vines. Also feeds on leaves, buds and nectar can hunt insects in flight as termites and butterflies.
To feed on fruits contributes to seed dispersal in urban green areas.
reproduction
The nests are usually well prepared as open basket built by the couple, sometimes between large bromeliads. The female lays usually 2 to 3 eggs. The chicks leave the nest 18 days.
habits
It inhabits the edge of woods and barns. In winter, join large mixed flocks of species from other families, useful behavior in protection against enemies.
