The nozzle-hard is a passerine bird in the tanager family.

Measures 20 cm in length.

Reportedly demand fruits, berries and seeds in edges of forests in the south or in semi-open areas of Espinilho and may consume tender green leaves of certain plants.

Has an average of 2 litters per season with 3 eggs each. Belton pointed bowl-shaped nests on branches between 3 and 5 m above the ground, between October and November.
